Killed in action in the Upper Gereshk Valley, Helmand. Wednesday 2nd. 2012. Sergeant 1st Class, René Brink Jakobsen is the first Danish soldier to fall in Afghanistan since 2011, and the first ever Danish Jæger to be killed in action. He is survived by his wife and three children. May his soul rest in peace and I hope his family can find some solace in the sacrifice he made on behalf of his country.
