Interesting. Only Niven's Ringworld surpasses Rama in scope, a bit too far even. But I doubt that this Clarke ever gets made into a movie. Rama is a great read, but it's like a museum trip, a lot of descriptions and theories, very little action (I never read the sequel novel) For most people it would become boring very soon. Which was the main complaint about Kubrick's 2001, too. And in there, quite a lot happened...
