Inglourious Basterds

Dir: Quentin Tarantino

This film has garnered a lot of praise across the internet, so despite my better judgement I decided to watch it. In my opinion Tarantino makes poor retro style rip offs, which makes him a third rate hack and this film was no exception. Normally I wouldn't be so harsh against a director (unless it was Peter Jackson) because there is always the glaring detail that I have never done better myself, but despite this, I do flatter myself of possessing at least an idea of what constitutes good cinema.

This is not good cinema in my opinion. I found this film to be boring, uninspiring and basically a polished turd.

You are not the only one I have heard say this ;-)

Wow. The vibe I'm getting as of late is that Jackson is a no-good trickster.

Jackson stood on the shoulders of an artistic giant just to take a dump.

LOTR was the biggest waste of money and expectations I've ever seen. I waited my whole adult life to see Tolkien adapted to cinema, and what I got was a mediocre soft horror movie by a third rate director and re-written by his wife.

Bitter?

Like a lemon thats been dropped down a salt mine!
