1936-39 Civil War In Spain

Here is some interesting coloured footage of the Spanish Civil War. Of all the 1930's period, I find this war to be particularly strange. It was in some way, a prelude to the World War that was to follow, but in other ways it reminds me of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict with its broad international and ideological appeal. As usual when ideologies collide, it was the women and children who paid the highest price of course.
