Mikkel Jørgensen


Mikkel Jørgensen, formerly of Jydske Dragoon Regiment, Holstebro, later attached to the Danish Army's Reaction Force programme with the Kongelige Livgarde (Royal Life Guard Regiment), Charlie Company, was mortally wounded yesterday morning during a skirmish with Taliban forces in the area east of patrol base Bridzar. Despite airlift to Camp Bastion's medical facilities Jørgensen died of his wounds.

Mikkel Jørgensen was 21 years old. He is the thirty eighth Danish fatality in Afghanistan. He leaves behind his parents and younger brother.
