Three weeks, steadily losing hope. Today we agreed to let go and suspend medical intervention. From now on, he's in the hands of fate. I knew this day was coming, but the moment itself was as terrible as anything I've ever experienced.
Afterwards we took the children to the beach. It was the best way to deflect the pain for a few hours.

This is never easy. Wishing strength and wisdom to you (and yours), moif.
Indeed, I'm sorry my best wishes are so late in coming. I have been following this sad story as its unfolded and want you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
I firmly believe miracles happen. Here's hoping that whatever the outcome that you'll be comforted.
I am so sorry for you and your family. Good luck.
Much love to you and your family, Jan. I know this is amazingly difficult, and I'm truly sorry that you're having to go through it. May it be as swift and painless as it possibly can be.
I'm sorry.
