GW monster display table

For all you gamers....

Its a bit depressing how easy they make it all look. I love the scope of it, though I'm not big on GW species types. I never unerstood the appeal of Skaven at all. I love the Aztec like fortifications though.

GW do make these spectacular large dioramas don't they? Unplayable but great to look at.

I've been to GW HQ in Nottingham and their games room is awesome too. Plenty of table with simple but good looking terrain to play on, and all their big display tables are there to in the "museum" to drool over.

I always wonder when I see these set piece tables, just what do they do with them afterwards?

It looks good. Actually I grabbed a blister of skaven, just because I figured they'd be easy to paint, and still look good. Hoards of drybrushed brown swarming over their foes.

There was a skaven diorama with a ship that really sold me that I saw in a mag.

The tone of the army didn't really appeal to me though. I'm not much for the attrition style games. I love each and every of my models too much to see swaths of them get cut down.

There's an ad on the TV here for Halo3, (a new X-box game) at the moment its of a rather large battle between some kinda space-marine and some alien type being. Looks like a real display table and not a computer created one. Some of the detail is great. I especially like the plumes of fire from an explosion, like to know how they got that effect. Also love to see more pictures of it if anyone knows where.

Have you tried searching on You Tube for the Halo 3 ad?
