Animation lifted from Katsuhiro Otomo's film 'Steam Boy' (the guy who made 'Akira'), music by the German hardcore dance band Scooter (just for you Flicka)

I've seen Steamboy.
Ummm... it wasn't that good, actually. At least, it wasn't to me.
I don't know, but most feature length anime I've seen so far (only a few, I admit) underwhelm me. Maybe I've just been watching bad ones.
I liked "Final Fantasy: Spirits within", though it flopped and got bad reviews. Didn't think much of "Advent Children" though it got good reviews. Go figure.
Anime series are different though, they let the story really develop. I seem to have outgrown the "big robots" stuff... more into series like Fantastic Children and Zettai Shounen
("Zettai Shounen" unfortunately translates to "Absolute Boy", making what is actually an excellent (tho' slow-moving) story sound like a gay porno)
Fantastic Children is a blend of SF and fantasy... not much action, but the story! It's about some children who have been reincarnating for 400 years to look for a Princess' reincarnating soul and return her to her planet. If they fail, they die at age 12 and are reborn to start the search anew.
The ending theme is pretty haunting, and obviously inspired by Enya.
Ive seen it, I own it, I think it is a good movie, interesting take on technology.
I like Howl's Moving Castle WAY better tho because I prefer Studio Ghibli. I am not exactly sure why I place those two in comparison but I do. Not sure what is similar about them, maybe the war machines, I dunno.

It is about a girl who is boring and acts more like and old lady who falls in love with Howl a wizard who happens to have a witch already in love with him. The witch becomes angry with Sophie the girl because Howl shows an interest in her and curses her to become an old lady. Once as an old lady she goes on a great adventure that involves a talking fire demon, a young boy who impersonates a wizard, a walking broom with a turnip for a head, the moving castle (which is basically a giant heap of junk full of magic inside), a sorceress, a funny little asthmatic dog, a war, and of course a good ol love story :) It is kid friendly too.

I'm not too bothered by the story in this regard. I'm more interesting the steam punk imagery.
I've read a few reviews of the film and they seem pretty mixed.
Helt sikkert, thats the good shit.
One of my all time favourites
Maximum respect to the man in the iscream van.
ha ha ha ha :-)
I saw a fan-subbed version of steamboy a while back, and the steampunk imagery is cool, although I must admit that I don't remember the story at all.
I laughed out loud at at that. It was awesome. Bass drum!

I've never heard of 'Howls moving castle'. Whats it about?
