Quarantine

...it just gets better and better. Every Christmas I come down with some sort of illness or other and this year has been no exception. Freja began to throw up a few nights ago and the next day she had a loose stomach (as its called). Amazingly this didn't seem to bother her at all, so when Mette and I began to exhibit the same symptoms, I didn't immedietely think much of it.

It didn't take long however for my body to make clear to me the extent of this bout of viral infection for after just a few hours we were both prostrate with upset stomachs, loose bowels and the smell of vomit hung in the air. Not being able to keep anything in we have both been utterly miserable, though as a man I was naturally far more pathetic than Mette. Whilst I lay in bed with extreme pains in my abdomen, Mette took care of Pip, clothed, bathed and fed her and generally got on with the day.

I excuse my pitiful performance with the fact that since I already have an illness of the intestines and since its not more than a few days since I was straining under the surgeon's hands, I am less able to deal with the added burden of this new illness, but the fact remains that Mette did everything today, despite her pains and discomfort and I did nothing.

So, for now we are all down with a virus of some kind and hoping it passes in time for the christmas gathering of both families for Freja's first ever christmas at home.

Spoken like a true man moif.

Women just don't realise how ill a man gets. We need pampering and the tender care of our women when we're ill.

On the bright side of course - better this week than next!

get well soon.

Poor you.

I visited your plague household at the weekend, at my own risk.
More fool me.
Yesterday I had to fetch my wife from work as she was so sick. Andre (my elder) son was a bit off colour as well.
Crossing fingers, at it is an *Evil* virus.

Get well soon.

Its extremely contagious. If I'd realised this earlier (if I'd known you were coming by) I'd have warned you, but alas, I was alseep until five mins before you arrived and was back in bed within four hours of your departure. Apparently multiple children at Freja's day car have also come down with the same thing and they're calling it 'Roskilde Syg'.

This is now the end of my third day and I'm still in pain with upset stomach, loose bowels, heavy flatulence and muscular pains all over my abdomen. Mette is much the same. Today I ate a chicken sandwich.... and within half an hour I was back in bed with shockingly intense cramps.

Freja seems indifferent though, even cheerful.

How goes it with the plague?

I've been hoping that things would improve before the holiday.

It lasted four days at full strength and the last two days have been a slow recovery. Pipski is still a bit 'iffy', but although he stomach s off, her mood is good. Today was her last day at day care and it went well enough. Mette and I have been more or less okay as of yesterday, though my day night rythm is totally screwed up again.

How are you feeling?

Hi moif, and a belated Merry Christmas! Although I suspect it wasn't very merry for you :-\ Don't you worry though, I'm experiencing the same thing - straight after Christmas I came down with a cold, nothing major just very annoying and irritating; and what's more, it's summer here! I don't get it lol. I hope you and your family are well. Freja is still adorable as ever :-)

Cheers,
Denise/OB1.
