The main engine was to have fired some kind of pellet which the lasers I built into the model, swung down and ignited it propelling the ship at great speed. Pity we never got to see it in action !!Andrew Glazebrookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10561008286443964427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25632303.post-15063696001861256482007-10-21T10:53:00.000+02:002007-10-21T10:53:00.000+02:00The first B5 series wasn't very good, I agree... b...The first B5 series wasn't very good, I agree... but it really picks up from Season 2 onwards, but Season 5 sort of petered out because most plotlines were resolved in Season 4.

The reason? They weren't sure Season 5 was going to be produced at all, so they crammed all plot resolution into Season 4, leaving only aftermath and epilogue for the final season.

I only got hooked on B5 in the middle of Season 2, watching an episode by pure chance. They got rid of fuddy duddy Commander Sinclair, replacing him with Captain Sheridan, a much stronger character.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25632303.post-15880953636545217162007-10-21T10:49:00.000+02:002007-10-21T10:49:00.000+02:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25632303.post-69578813534564640992007-10-21T00:05:00.000+02:002007-10-21T00:05:00.000+02:00Looks to me more like a drone than a cruiser. I once watched the first series of Babylon 5 but I didn't much care for the acting and cheap sets.

I've been told it picks up but I've never gotten into it.moifhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16478350237996551732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25632303.post-42669883376187158782007-10-20T18:36:00.000+02:002007-10-20T18:36:00.000+02:00http://www.gkane.de/artwork/narn_cruiser_still.jpg...http://www.gkane.de/artwork/narn_cruiser_still.jpgAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25632303.post-51299097134030908672007-10-20T18:33:00.000+02:002007-10-20T18:33:00.000+02:00You might like Babylon 5 designs... especially shi...You might like Babylon 5 designs... especially ships of the Narn Regime.

http://www.gkane.de/3dfiles/nhc_v1.html

It fits your ideal: big engine, big gun.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25632303.post-81955635410399267592007-10-20T01:18:00.000+02:002007-10-20T01:18:00.000+02:00You should meet my friend Oleg. You don't mess around with this concept. Yo...Wow. You don't mess around with this concept. You don't just make casual observations. You think it through.

When I was reading that, it reminded me of an old Heinlein novel where space travel consists of a lot of speeding up and slowing down. Half of the trip is spent speeding up, and at the halfway point you flip the ship and point the thruster forward and spend the second half of the trip slowing down. None of this "drop out of warp" stuff when you get to your destination. Inertial dampeners? Unlikely. You just have to endure the high G's the whole time. Also, don't hit anything when you're going that fast. Nobody's going to say "Sheilds holding at 65%". It would just be "Hull at 0%".

I think that when/if people carrying spaceships are designed and built that they will have a top/bottom. When you get in something, you just have to know which way is up.

Great post.brandohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11507192624540239249noreply@blogger.com
